"Escape Reality"

For my big idea, I have come up with this idea of "escape reality". This is very true especially in the comic book world. Many comic book readers tend to read comic books to immerse themselves in that particular superheros lifestyle and universe. This allows them to essentially escape from reality for that little bit that they read their comic book. Whether it is to get away from the struggles of their life or just to live a life long fantasy, comic books seek to explore a universe full of possibilities for the reader to enjoy and immerse themselves in.

I used comic book villains and superheros for my campaign posters and all of them read the same line escape reality at magics guild. This entices the viewer with "escape reality" and by announcing at magic's guild, you are directing the viewer to the store. You can also make these posters really easily and customize them to all types of superheros and villains to suit every individual.

Here are some examples of my work:

 (Joker Campaign Poster)

(King Pin Campaign Poster)

One thing I also tried to do was keep to the original text of comic books by using the why so serious? Joker font from Dark Knight movie and a comic book font for the King Pin poster.

Media Marketing Project Results

Within my group, we worked on a marketing campaign for Wizard's Guild, a comic book store in Athens, OH. After much discussion, we came to the conclusion that we would need to promote the store more through social media means since there are none already promoting the store. We believe this will attract more potential consumers.

We will do this through implementing the marketing means in social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Facebook- We would create a Facebook page for the store. We would then use the Facebook page to promote store deals, employee profile videos, comic book release dates, events sponsored by the store, etc. Another thing we talked about was connecting with other comic Facebook pages preferably within Athens Ohio. For instance, if there is a comic book club then connect with them and get them to like our page which would promote the store to potential customers.

Twitter - Much like Facebook  we would tweet about store deals, comic book release dates, fun facts to attract followers, and just get information out to the public about the comic book store.

YouTube - We decided that we would create videos based on the store to promote the store itself. For instance, we talked about making employee profile videos where we interview employees and post them to the Facebook and twitter pages.
